The Play Reports
A one-page review of any ttrpg systems I participate in!
Welcome!
This is a place for ttrpg system and adventure reviews. All reviews fit roughly onto one-ish page and are my immediate feelings/reactions to the system or adventure at hand. Each post is tagged in their title being either a Player Report (Play) or a GM Report (GM).
Player Reports
The format of each post from a player point of view is the following:
- The Stat Sheet: This has information on what system we played, the adventure used, number of players, and my role in the session.
- The Snapshot: A too long, didn't read bullet point of what happened in the session narratively.
- The System: A few sentences on the system used in the session and any notes I think should be shared.
- (Optional) The Party: A brief list of each character in the session and their goals/vibes.
- The Brief: A play report of the session. Format varies, but they are usually written in character to capture the vibes and setting that were present at the table.
- The Takeaways: Specific system/adventure highlights that is broken into a pro/con list.
GM Reports
The format of posts from a GM point of view are inspired from Playful Void's post here. They follow an almost identical format to player reports (no The Brief) with the addition of the following:
- The System: This section dives deeper into the system used and what components I implmeneted/liked from it.
- The Module: This conveys the module I ran - if I used one - and what components I liked and what I utilized the most. It will also note how far from the module we strayed which is always a good time.
- The Party: This section briefly describes the composition of the party, similar to the player report.
Note: All dates signify the day the system was played as I make a draft of the post during play. If a play report covers more than one session, the date marked is the first session.
